DIY Imaginative Play - Museum | #BGP006

By Dr. Rajeev Tamhankar

Imaginative play for toddlers, or pretend play, involves using their imaginations to create scenarios, roles, and narratives. This type of play includes role-playing, storytelling, and using objects as props. For instance, a toddler might pretend to be a doctor, caring for their stuffed animals or dolls, or imagine they are pirates sailing on a ship made from cushions and blankets. Such play helps develop creativity, social skills, and cognitive abilities by allowing children to explore different roles and situations.

  1. Set the scene at the museum
  2. Monalisa’s painting is missing! Feel free to use cushions or designate an area to make a museum. Take the opportunity to tell kids how museum stores antique things like paintings, statues, coins, remains etc.

Imaginative play boosts a lot of concepts for the kid. These will be readymade skits that you or a caregiver can play and enjoy with your child.

While doing the skit, please elaborate the points that your kid shows inclination towards.
