BGP042 | Sculpture Art Creatures

By Dr. Rajeev Tamhankar

In this session, participants will dive deeper into sculpture art by creating fun and imaginative creatures using Play-Doh. Building on the previous lesson where snake sculptures were made, this activity will encourage creativity and fine motor skills as children design various colorful creatures, from dragonflies to pandas. The session provides both a homemade Play-Doh recipe and suggestions for using non-toxic store-bought alternatives.

  1. Gather materials: homemade or non-toxic Play-Doh, rolling pins, plastic utensils, and optional cookie cutters.
  2. Follow the Play-Doh recipe or use pre-made dough for easy sculpting.
  3. Create different creatures by shaping the dough into rolls and adding details like wings, tails, and fins.
  4. Use safe food coloring to enhance the visual appeal of the sculptures.
  1. Enhances fine motor skills through hands-on sculpting.
  2. Stimulates creativity and imagination by designing unique creatures.
  3. Encourages problem-solving as children figure out how to assemble different parts.
