BGPF003 | Visual Arts

By Dr. Rajeev Tamhankar

In this session, the instructor introduces the first module of the visual arts program focused on artistic intelligence building through a color mixing activity. The goal is to spark curiosity, self-expression, and emotional growth in children through creative experimentation.

  1. Begin by demonstrating basic color mixing (e.g., red + blue = purple).
  2. Provide primary colors (red, blue, yellow) for children to explore combinations.
  3. Allow the child to experiment independently, encouraging discovery and self-expression.
  4. Maintain a safe, mess-friendly environment with newspapers or protective sheets.
  1. Enhances fine motor skills through painting and mixing.
  2. Promotes sensory development, particularly sight and touch.
  3. Cultivates emotional growth through joyful discovery and creativity.
  4. Fosters cognitive skills by understanding cause and effect in color changes.
  1. Encourage children to use color recognition vocabulary while experimenting.
  2. Be patient with the process; let children take their time to explore.
  3. Keep the environment safe and clean to allow uninhibited experimentation.
  4. Celebrate and share the child’s creations to reinforce their sense of achievement.
