BGPF004 | Jurassic Park Poster Pretend play

By Dr. Rajeev Tamhankar and Riddhi Chincholikar

The “Jurassic Park Pretend Play” activity is an engaging, imaginative experience designed for children fascinated by dinosaurs. It encourages creativity, introduces educational content, and stimulates curiosity. By role-playing as explorers, children can learn about various dinosaurs and prehistoric facts while enjoying hands-on activities such as using posters, binoculars, and pretend maps. Parents guide the activity, enhancing the child’s learning through play.

  1. Set up a pretend Jurassic Park environment using dinosaur posters and optional props (binoculars, hats, cushions).
  2. Parents play as Dr. Gino, guiding children (Junior Explorers) through various dinosaur-themed activities.
  3. Use dinosaur alphabet posters to introduce and discuss different dinosaur species.
  4. Reward children for spotting dinosaurs by offering food or treats to keep them engaged.
  1. Encourages imaginative play and creative thinking.
  2. Stimulates curiosity about dinosaurs and the natural world.
  3. Provides opportunities to introduce educational concepts like carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores.
  4. Helps improve pronunciation skills and builds vocabulary through dinosaur names.
  1. Add explorer hats or magnifying glasses to make the experience more immersive.
  2. Use household items like cushions to create a fun, adventurous environment.
  3. Create a map of the “Jurassic Park” to guide the exploration and teach direction-based skills.
  4. If your child enjoys dinosaurs, encourage them to pronounce the names for added fun and learning.
