KBGPF001 | Shape Flash Card Week 01

By Dr. Rajeev Tamhankar

The “Shapes Flash Cards” activity introduces basic shapes (circle, square, triangle) to infants through high-contrast flashcards. This visual stimulation method helps foster early cognitive development and shape recognition, benefiting children’s spatial awareness and vocabulary. Sessions are short and designed to maintain the child’s focus while building a bond between parent and child.

  1. Begin with three flashcards: circle, square, triangle.
  2. Show each card for 2-3 seconds, repeat in sequence.
  3. Conduct one session per day during tummy time.
  4. Gradually increase sessions to 2-3 times per day as the child engages.
  1. Enhances early visual perception and shape recognition.
  2. Encourages faster cognitive development and spatial awareness.
  3. Builds early vocabulary and object-form understanding.
  4. Strengthens parent-child interaction through engaging learning.
  1. Use a slow, clear voice while naming shapes.
  2. Observe for overstimulation and shorten the session if needed.
  3. Gradually increase session time as attention improves.
  4. Ensure a distraction-free environment to maintain focus.
