KBGPF003 | Baby flash cards - world through baby eyes

By Dr. Rajeev Tamhankar

In this session, parents are guided on how to use black and white flashcards to stimulate their babies’ cognitive development. The flashcards represent the world from a baby’s perspective, aiming to help infants correlate images with real-life objects. This practice aids in visual and mental association, supporting early learning through repetition and interaction with objects, such as teddy bears and cribs.

  1. Show flashcards to the baby from 8 to 12 inches away for short intervals.
  2. Start with 2-3 cards per session, repeating them throughout the week.
  3. Limit sessions to 2 minutes, gradually increasing the duration over time.
  4. Use real-life objects to reinforce associations with the images on the cards.
  1. Helps babies develop early object recognition skills.
  2. Encourages cognitive associations between images and real objects.
  3. Promotes visual stimulation and focus in infants.
  4. Strengthens memory and learning through consistent repetition.
  1. Use flashcards when the baby is alert, such as after naps or feeding times.
  2. Engage with the baby by describing the object’s qualities (e.g., soft teddy bear).
  3. Repeatedly show the same card over several days for better memory retention.
  4. Encourage tactile interaction by allowing the baby to touch real objects shown on the cards.
