By Dr. Rajeev Tamhankar and Riddhi Chincholikar

The Family and People activity introduces your little one to familiar faces, helping them recognize family members and understand relationships. Through interactive engagement, this activity strengthens emotional bonds, enhances social development, and builds early communication skills.

  • Gather pictures of family members and place them in front of your child.
  • Point to each picture and name the person, using simple and warm expressions.
  • Encourage your child to touch or point at the pictures while repeating the names.
  • Engage in a fun conversation about each family member, describing their role and any special connection with the child.
  • Play a peek-a-boo or a call-and-response game, where family members take turns calling the child’s name in a gentle tone.
  • Strengthens emotional bonding with family members.
  • Improves facial recognition and memory skills.
  • Enhances early communication and listening abilities.
  • Encourages social awareness and a sense of security.
  • Use real photographs rather than digital images for a more tangible experience.
